The West Virgina Brass Quintet, formed in June 2009, is one of the most exciting chamber ensembles in West Virginia. This versatile group's repertoire spans five centuries of music, from Renaissance and Baroque to Contemporary to Dixieland Jazz with an emphasis on traditional American Music. With Members living more than one hundred fifty miles apart, the WVBQ goes to great lengths to sustain their passion for music making.
Voces Solis, a premier chamber choir established in 2013, performs a diverse repertoire of challenging and innovative choral works. Composed of professional musicians, music educators, and experienced choristers, they are committed to providing an educational experience for members and audiences alike. In addition to public performances, private events, recordings, and symposiums, Voces Solis also collaborates with other arts organizations to bring the highest quality choral chamber music to the Pittsburgh area.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, pianist Henry Wong Doe has earned top prizes, including two "Audience Favorite" awards in the Arthur Rubenstein, Busoni and Sydney International Piano competitions. Performance highlights include venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York, Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh, St Martin-in-the-Fields London Esplande-Theatres on the Bay Singapore, the Sydney Opera House in Australia and the Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv, Israel. He has performed as a soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony, Australian Chamber and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestras.
Philly Street Strings is a dynamic, new orchestra based in Indiana, PA. The ensemble, founded by violinists Stanley and Swana Chepaitis, features 12 professional string players who have performed and taught in the area for many years. Philly Street Strings is an orchestra without a conductor. Instead, all players work actively together to create fresh and vibrant performances. Their repertoire has ranged from Baroque classics to contemporary jazz.
