About Us

The Johnstown Concert Series

The mission of the Johnstown Concert Series is to provide high quality chamber music performances of all styles to the Johnstown community.

Our concerts feature a welcoming, intimate atmosphere with several unique features:

  • Unreserved seating allows concert-goers to choose where they will sit.
  • The performers on our series speak directly to the audience, sharing stories and anecdotes about the music on the program.
  • After each concert, everyone is invited to an informal meet and greet with the musicians.

Through our recently updated website,  our patrons can now enjoy the convenience of purchasing tickets and making donations online.

History of the Series

In 2005, Dr. Albert K. Mall founded the series to provide members of the community with the opportunity to enjoy small groups of excellent musicians without having to travel to Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., or New York.

We have brought musicians from all over the world to perform for an ever-growing audience. The series continues to evolve:  offered under the auspices of The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, we have collaborated with the Johnstown Symphony and the Pittsburgh Concert Society, and with the John P. Murtha Neuroscience and Pain Institute, for which we provided tickets for patients in chronic pain.

The involvement of the Williams family and parishoners of First Presbyterian Church are deeply appreciated.
